The purpose of the EL FAR Traditional Navigation School, in keeping with the EL FAR Consortium’s own corporate purpose and goals, is to bring Barcelona’s reclaimed maritime heritage and the values associated with maritime culture and protecting the natural and coastal environment closer to the body public using a hands-on, participatory approach.
The goal is to raise awareness of and provide instruction on the different types of traditional navigation by means of the school’s many programs, which moreover build character and allow for the transmission of humane values in spheres such as responsibility and personal commitment, teamwork, cooperation and solidarity.
