EL FAR Barcelona is the product of a joint effort and aims to serve as a social tool.

• As a school ship, it offers education and training based on traditional navigation.

• As an ambassador of the city, it participates in races such as Sail Training International’s 50th Anniversary Tall Ships Race (July 2006) and the 2007 Mediterranea Regatta, with the novel addition of cabin boys and cabin girls: 50% of the crew are between the ages of 16 and 25 and are learning to sail and coexist at sea.
